You know the millions of dollars in fines Uber paid for drivers in the early days when it was still illegal in most places? If a driver got a ticket for driving an "unlicensed limo" or something to that effect, Uber would always pick up the cost of the ticket and pay it for the driver.

Well, yesterday Miami decided to help Uber out a bit by reducing the fines. Uber will now only have to pay a little more than half the original fines. Originally they owed a total of nearly $5 million. So that'll be a nice little savings for them. Maybe they can use it to pay Florida drivers a little more.

5 million. And that's just one city.

I can only imagine how much Los Angeles charged them in fines. I remember when it was illegal to pick up riders at LAX, but drivers would come anyway.
